Upcoming Classes

Just wanted to share with you some classes coming up that I will be teaching . . . .

The first one is a Stationery Box Class that I'll be teaching on Thursday May 8th at the Paper Niche

  

Here's the Description:

Together we will create this adorable stationary box that you can give to Mom or keep for yourself! Along with the box we will create four cards, four note cards, and four tags. These all fit inside the box along with a dates to remember booklet and stamp holder. Everything you need to keep you organize for gift giving!

Please Bring Basic Tool Kit along with a Score Board/Bone Folder and pop dots

The next class I have coming up is at the Cheeky Chics Expression Getaway

This book can be whatever you want it to be. Art Journal, Day planner, year in review . . .It would make an adorable scrapbook too!

For this class I will be showing you how to alter this canvas cover, we'll take it from drab to fab in no time! I'll show you all kinds of techniques using acrylic paint, sprays, and modeling paste. We will have a "messy" good time! In class we will just be altering the outside cover. But just wait till you see what's on the inside!

This 7x9 Book is packed full of goodies, here's what's included for the inside pages . . . . paper envelope and paper pocket four folders and four photo sleeves (room for 16 - 4" x 6" photos)
two full page plastic sleeves and two business card sleeves (room for 16 standard sized business cards)
One full page bag with zipper and 12 customizable calendar pages
Three check lists and 40 pre-printed cardstock pages
One world map and one US map
One sticker sheet, one foam dot sheet and one ticket sheet

Here's a list of supplies you will need to bring: Basic Tool Kit, heat gun is a must, Apron if you have one, glue dots, glue-n-seal or modge podge, favorite wet adhesive, vintage photo distress ink and broken china distress inks with blending tool.  (the Cheeky Chics store carries Scrappy Glue, Ranger Heat guns, glue dots, Gesso which is  equivalent and in my opinion much better then Modge Podge, and the distress inks that Natasha has listed)

Paper Niche February Kit

Loved this kit, it has some of my favorite manufactures of paper in it, like Simple Stories and Basic Grey. Lots of Valentine goodies in this one! So for this month I made an album, a stationary box filled with 6 cards, 6 mini note cards,  6 tags, two layouts, an easal card, and I still had some paper left over!

First up is the album I made using the Simple Stories paper that came in our kit. The base of my album is coin envelopes that you purchase at your local office supply store. I covered these with the paper and made some hinges out of card stock to hold it all together. My plan is for each envelope to be a month of the year so that I can stick a picture or two and some journaling in there every month and it the end of this year it will be a mini year in review album.

Ok, so here's the stationary box I made. It may just look like an ordinary box but wait till you see the inside!

It holds six full size cards, six mini note cards, and six gift tags. Along with a mini notebook to jot down birth-dates and etc and a pocket for your stamps. This would make a great gift to give someone.

Paper Niche January Monthly Kit

I'm back to show you what I created with the Paper Niche January Monthly Kit. I tried something new in this kit although I'm not much of a card maker, I ended up making two easel cards, which was surprisingly really easy to make and I do believe I've caught the bug! I'm sure you are gonna see lots more cards from me in the near future!

OK, so we will start off with a graphic 45 chipboard box that I purchased at the Paper Niche. It comes plain and ready to alter with an accordion album inside.

For the inside of the album I wanted to keep it simple since it was small so all you would have to do is add your pictures. I just distressed and inked all the edges of the papers and machine sewed around the edges.

Ok, here are the easel cards I was telling you about, I love the way you can sit them up for display but yet they close flat for an envelope.

And lastly here's a layout I did of my sister-in- law who passed away last October, Destiny. She loved her horses and thats what I wanted to convey in this layout.

Here's a close up of the chipboard letters we received in our kit. I inked them with two different colors of ink then I covered them in glossy accent to give them some dimension.

November Kit Reveal

Its that time again . . . I get to reveal what I created with the Paper Niche November kit. Who says you can't create Summer pictures and Christmas pictures from the same kit, not me! Here's proof how versatile this kit is. First double layouts are from some Summer pictures of my daughter, niece, and nephew in the pool taken a couple of summer's ago.

And lastly I use the new Tattered Angels Mist-able Shadow box frame (they sell at the PaperNiche) along with my kit to highlight our snow pictures from Christmas 2009

I still have alot of the Prima Printery Collection papers left over from my kit that I can't wait to use up!

Paper Niche November Sneak Peaks

Paper Niche October Kit

Its time for my October Paper Niche kit reveal . . . . loved working with this kit. I love the diversity of the papers and embellishments. You can check out the other design members projects here, and Sharon does a video reveal for everyone so you can really get a feel for what the kit is like. I don't think you would know that these four layouts came from the same kit, each one is different and unique.

This is a picture of my Summer when she was just five years old. I wanted this layout to have a shadow box feel so I have the My Minds Eye paper posted on foam core to make it pop up. The majority of the flowers came in the kit and the little ones are from my tutorial I showed you using a hot glue gun.

I think the Bo Bunny collection goes perfect with the Older photos you may have. All of these embellishments came in the kit, flowers and all. I dipped some of the flowers in alcohol inks to change the color to match the papers. I did add the paper rosettes. The little nostalgic advertisements was the Echo Park Happy Days paper found in the kit. I just cut out the ones I wanted inked them and then heat embossed them.

These next two layouts are pictures of my sister in law, Destiny who passed away last year at the age of 17 from a brain tumor. I'm making a book for her family.

The blue flowers comes in the kit, I made the white rose and the two small spiral roses. The huge flourish came from one of the papers found in the kit, I just fussy cut it and added some sparkle.

I made the flowers on this layout . . .  so easy it would scare you. Then I just glimmer misted them and added stickles. Lots of distressing and paper tearing on this one.

October Sneak Peaks

Hi Everyone, Its time to reveal my sneak peaks for the The Paper Niche  October kit. I had so much fun creating these layouts I tried some new techniques out. If you will notice the cute little white with pink glitter center flower and the turquoise one with the rhinestone center . . .  those are the new ones I learned how to make and I'm gonna show you! But you'll have to wait till the October reveal! Its so simple to make and you can make other embellishments too using this simple technique.
